I sometimes wonder why we have so few entrepreneurs not only in Kenya but (East) Africa as a whole. I am not counting the traders and tenderpreneurs, of them there are plenty. It is just they rarely add something new to the market, rather more of the same.

There are more than enough people with great ideas, so I don’t think creativity is the issue here. The question is more: what do all those people will great ideas do with them. I am afraid the answer is: no so much. People are very happy dreaming, but putting your actions and resources behind that dream is risky.
