IT’S 2020 — WE CREATE OUR OWN OPPORTUNITIES

The other day I spoke to a friend who unfortunately got rejected to join a prestigious business school. She felt that her ambitions to succeed in an international career had come to a (temporary) halt. I hope that after we had coffee she was able to see perspective again:

It’s 2020 — we no longer learn in school, but online, using resources from Youtube to Masterclass to Coursera to Linkedin Learning to even Harvard and Stanford University online courses. To connect with people outside of our network we have Twitter, Linkedin, Quora and Reddit, for example.

SPARK OF THE DAY

If you’re clear on your goal, you can chart your course towards that goal. Instead of depending on others to provide you with knowledge and opportunities, use the resources and networks that you already have access to to expand.

It’s not easy and will take time, but if you really want something, there is nothing that can stop you from getting there.
