INTRAPRENEURSHIP AS A LAUNCHPAD FOR ENTREPRENEURSHIP

On Friday I had a catch-up call with one of the participants of our intrapreneurship program, a program where we guide recent graduates on how to bring their entrepreneurial drive to succeed in their day job — a day job which is often seen as a temporary inconvenience needed to earn some cash, while getting ready to jump and start a business as soon as they have the funding, the idea, the motivation, the traction, the … euhm, well… just as soon as things fall into place.

Being a founder is sexy, being an employee not so much. Which is a shame, as employment gives the perfect experience what it takes to run a business, to come up with or refine an idea, to create a network of potential partners and customers, and to experience how to grow and scale when you have the resources — something a startup founder would need to wait several years for.

SPARK OF THE DAY

“Since I made the decision to give my job a chance, I have started to enjoy going to work more and my manager has started to give me greater responsibilities”. ~ Denis Karaba

Entrepreneurship might be your holy grail, but the paths leading to starting your own business are many. Don’t be afraid to invest in gaining experience…

& for managers and directors: don’t be afraid to ask more of your intrapreneurs!

I wish your an inspired rest of your day…
